Scorsone in robe and wig, care of Marc Carey

Page One's "Jake," who levels the charge of "homophobia" upon the slightest provocation, has accused Marc Carey of, ... sigh, "homophobia" because he photoshopped Scorsone, an openly gay state senator who Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear is apparently considering for a circuit court judgeship, wearing U. S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's judicial robe (which, as far as I can tell is pretty much the same as any other judicial robe).

Carey's response was to photoshop Scorsone again, this time with a judicial wig. I love it.

So, why is it exactly that gays can wear women's clothing and it's the "T" in "GLBT" and it's campy and diverse and all that stuff, but when someone else photoshops them wearing women's clothes, it's a case of homophobia?

What am I missing?

MC "What am I missing?"

In the case of the La "freedom of discussion" bill, an awful lot. What do you think of fellow fighting enthusiast Mr Norris' view?
Elsewhere, I suspect much, although I haven't read this particular story.

Martin, are you really an 8th grade student somewhere? It is amazing anyone listens to you when you behave like this so often.

Anonymous,

We adults here at vere loqui use actual arguments. If you need help doing this, just let me know and we'll see what we can do.

MC: We adults here at vere loqui use actual arguments.

I've seen a statement that La SB733 won't allow religion in the classroom (in apparent misrepresentation of the story linked to) and ridicule of Prof Forrest, but I haven't seen an argument that responds to the ACLU's concerns or Mr Norris' comments.

So I am hereby and forthwithly requesting help in constructing an argument addressing the concerns of scientists regarding the in-classroom effects of SB733.

Well for starters look at what you say to refrain from doing on this blog under the title "Leave Your Comment".

Wouldn't photoshoping a person into something they are not in a demeaning way count as a form of name-calling, demeaning their integrity, acting in an inappropriate way that is not necessary to civilized discussion, and being demeaning or insulting?

This photoshop looks like something a middle school student would do to an unpopular student or a difficult teacher. Of course this is your blog so you can do any unsavory thing you want and you usually do. There is no "bullying law" here for Martin to obey.

Okay Anonymous, I'll have to say you're right on this. I'm willing to take all the verbal abuse you want to heap on me.

As anyone caught in a double standard, however, I still maintain a secret desire to be vindicated by pointing to extenuating circumstances, such as the fact that I was responding to the charge that Carey was "homophobic," which he clearly is not.

Who wrote those pesky standards anyway?
