The last four Republican Presidents slept with pro-choice wives, and Prescott Bush was aligned with the eugenics movement. The Democrats, with abortion rights in their party platform, have millions of partisans who are pro-life. As long as the federal government doesn't force women to have abortions, or force them to carry to term, this issue is going no where politically. At best for pro-lifers, the issue might revert back to state legislatures with a repeal of Roe. Another point, Democrats have put two nominees on the Supreme Court in the past 40 years.
