More evidence on gender difference that we should ignore

From Mark Perry at Carpe Diem:
"Among the 19 students who got a perfect score on the ACT science test in the past two decades, 18 were boys." -- The New York Times
It's just a coincidence that the best science minds are male, of course. It has nothing to do with gender differences, which we all know to be culturally conditioned and to have nothing to do with . There is no difference between boys and girls.

Just keep repeating it.

Martin,

There are a lot of people who could take offense at that remark, such as Rosalind Franklin, Marie Curie and her daughter Irene Joliot-Curie, or the three women who won Nobel Prizes for their scientific research last year, among many others.

KyCobb,

What remark? And if, as the evidence seems to indicate, women at the top of math/science professions are not as common as men, then wouldn't the achievements of those you mention be even more exceptional?

It's perfectly acceptable to me that you wish to make men the more proficient scientists, so long as you remember that Wisdom is a woman and that the sciences tested in the ACT will always be dependent upon the feminine virtues of philosophy.

As if we need another example of mathematical ineptitude.

Martin, I hope your day job doesn't require math or statistics.

Martin,

This remark: "It's just a coincidence that the best science minds are male, of course." Many of the best scientific minds are female.

Women may be superior scientists as evidenced by their rarity as creation "scientists" and intelligent design creationism "theorists".
