Americans may be he best, but they ain't the brightest in math
According to Chester Finn, not only do American students compare poorly to students in other countries on math proficiency, but even students from the highest performing American states still get beat out by a bevy of nations.Read the report here.

I think a big problem with education in general (in the USA) is that too many influential people hold that getting a good education is un-American or evil.
Go to Harvard? You're an elitist.
Study science at a reputable university? You're becoming an "expert" - and experts are bad.
It's sad to see how education is viewed in this country...
