BREAKING NEWS: Obama refuses to drop out of the presidential race for opposing restrictions on infanticide

WASHINGTON, DC--President Barack Obama is apparently unwilling to drop out of the presidential race in the wake of revelations that he opposed legislation protecting infants born alive in abortion procedures and opposed legislation banning partial-birth abortions.

In fact, the President is still saying nothing about it. As is the liberal media, which is too busy talking about Todd Akin, a candidate for the U. S. Senate in Kansas, who repeated a discredited theory of how women's bodies react during rape to pay any attention to Obama's tacit support of infanticide.

We will keep you posted with up-to-the-minute updates on the President's candidate status...

OK, so I'm not an expert on the subject, but oftentimes a single piece of legislation often has multiple pieces of information. Did any of these bills which ban partial birth abortion also ban all forms of abortion? Did the bill protecting infants born alive also ban all of abortion? If so, this might not be what it sounds like. If a bill said "Protect freedom of speech, and add a 5 dollar tax to every soda purchase" Then you couldn't really argue that the person who took a stance against the bill did so because they hate freedom of speech. I'm not entirely sure if this is the case in the legislation you bring up, because I don't know what specific legislation you are talking about. Could you tell us which bill these laws are from, and where we can find them and confirm or refute your claim? I'm not a Barack Obama supporter by any stretch, but I don't want him to be attacked unfairly either.

Also, I know you are intentionally being humorous, but sometimes I can't tell. Are you against asking Akin to step down?

Here you go, ZPenn:

Factcheck is usually very reliable in these things. Obama has argued that he voted against the 'Born Alive' bill because it did not contain a protection that would prohibit any detrimental effects on general abortion rights.

A pro-life group claims to have found documents that prove that at the time Obama voted for that bill, it was already amended to contain such a protection clause. However, they rely on Republican party documents and as far as i can tell, there is no official record of whether or not this bill was amended when Obama voted against it.

So it seems there is a credible case that Obama opposed the Born Again bill even though it ostensibly would not have affected general abortion rights for women. Make of that what you will.

Of course, what you make of Martin's hysterical equivocation of letting premature fetuses die (some or all of which would be unviable anyway) with 'infanticide' is up to you.

Actually, Singring, Obama refused to allow a vote in a committee he chaired in the Illinois legislature which had addressed his legalistic concerns and included exact language of federal legislation which passed overwhelmingly and which Obama says he would have supported. Even a lot of Illinois Democrats were shocked at his behavior as the Chairman of that Illinois legislative committee. In other words, Obama is a bald faced liar on this issue. In essence, even your Factcheck source says so.
